The Remnant!?

Is Christianity in the US failing?

It seems that today the Christian church is far from what it should be. Here are my concerns:
(1) Many believers today do not actively pursue their faith.
(2) Many believers are not biblically literate.
(3) Many believers do not actively live their faith or let their faith impact their daily lives.
(4) Many believers do not pass on their faith to their children or friendships.
(5) Many believers do not give the Bible the authority it demands or deserves.
I do believe that God will always keep a remnant. It seems however that this is they way things will be in the last days, no I am not “end of the world is imminent type”, but our country has turned its back on GOD, and we will have to deal with the consequences.
Here are some passages for consideration that clarify and give hope:
11:3 (NASB95) “Lord, THEY HAVE KILLED YOUR PROPHETS, THEY HAVE TORN DOWN YOUR ALTARS, AND I ALONE AM LEFT, AND THEY ARE SEEKING MY LIFE.” 4 But what is the divine response to him? “I HAVE KEPT for Myself SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL.” 5 In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. Romans 11:3-5 (NASB95)

You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. 2 Timothy 4:3 (MSG)

They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 2 Timothy 4:4 (NLT)

So what do you think?
