A Milestone in my Sons life
Last week my 5 year old son and I shared a rite of passage. We dove deep into a new level of bonding, and shared comraderie. We watched Star Wars! Yep thats right. We practically had a marathon. It was a great time to share that time with him. He had lots of questions and wide eyed moments.
Since then Tyler has introduced Star Wars figures into play when the Dinosaurs come out to play. Now we have one more thing to play together and talk about. We got to talk about Good and Evil, about restoration, love and other themes that come out in this movie. I love to share time with my son and it is a gift of God to do so. I pray for all of you who have little ones that you will enjoy the time you have becuase it seems to go by so quickly. The time you are given you can never have again, so treasure it and use every opportunity to share with them your faith in God.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (CEV)
4 Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only true God! 5 So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. 6 Memorize his laws 7 and tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. 8 Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. 9 Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates.
Galatians 6:10 (NLT)
10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
